Mike Holguin

Mike Holguin is a highly respected drummer, music director, and educator whose career spans symphonic performance, commercial music, international touring, and music education at the highest level. He currently performs with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra and has worked alongside Grammy Award–winning and internationally renowned artists including Cynthia Erivo, David Foster, Stewart Copeland, Natalie Cole, Celia Cruz, and bassist Nathan East.

A versatile performer and leader, Mike is the Music Director and a founding member of The Mighty Untouchables, an elite San Diego–based corporate show band known for delivering world-class performances for major events and high-profile clients. In this role, he oversees musical direction, rhythm section leadership, and ensemble cohesion across live and studio settings.

Mike is also a lifelong educator with decades of experience teaching percussion, band, jazz ensemble, and contemporary music. His work bridges the gap between classroom instruction and real-world musicianship, emphasizing strong fundamentals, musical awareness, preparation, and professionalism.

A former United States Navy musician, Mike toured internationally with the 7th Fleet Navy Band based in Yokosuka, Japan, performing in more than 20 countries while representing the United States as a cultural ambassador. Following his honorable discharge, he established a thriving civilian career encompassing performance, education, composition, and arranging.
